The Richard Meier Ara Pacis Museum was the first new building in the old historic area of Rome in over 60 years. Piazza Augusto Imperatore - 1938. In 1937, Mussolini made plans to celebrate the Bimillennial (2000 th) anniversary of the birth of the Emperor Augustus. The celebration would pay homage to the ancient glory of Augustus.
